Prologue:  Another morning...

The buzz of the alarm clock shatters me into reality.  Another morning I thought.  I hadn't quite realized just how many times I had hit the snooze button that morning, not until I saw the time anyways.  A jolt of panic tore through my spine as I realized that I had overslept for about an hour.  The thought of my boss's face turning tomato red sends my body flying out of bed like I was dodging a lightning bolt.  I rip open the closet door and grab a suit from a row of carbon copied suits, then carry it into the bathroom.
I emerged 15 minutes later in my daily uniform, a navy blue suit with a white shirt and a black tie.  My hair is short and messy in a way that fortunately affords me the luxury of not having to style it.  I dash for the door of my apartment, grabbing my suede coat and keys along the way.
My driving skills were never something that I could brag about.  However while on the verge of ruining my perfect punctuality streak, I could have easily been mistaken for a race car driver.  I could have sworn that I saw the racing line as I weaved through dense city traffic at double the speed limit.  Miraculously, I made it to work in one piece.
I had never been late for work before, but I had witnessed on many occasions how badly my supervisor reacted to bad punctuality, and it was not pretty.  His face would literally turn a bloody red as he barked like a rabid dog in the face of one of my poor defenseless fellow employee.  I always prayed that the day would never come when I would be on the receiving end of one of his tongue lashings.
I flew through the building’s main lobby to the elevator in such a hurry that I hadn't even realized that there was absolutely nobody in the lobby.......not even the security guards.  The elevator dinged open, and I entered.  It was also empty.  The cheesy elevator music chimed in the background as the elevator rose, the mechanical sounds in the background speeding up.  Suddenly I got a slight nervous feeling.  I felt a premonition that something bad was about to happen.  Maybe the boss is waiting for me to come out of the elevator I joked to myself.  How silly of me.
The elevator dinged open again.  My intentions were to bolt out of that door and get straight to my apologizing.  I take two hasty steps forward, stop, and then take three wobbly steps back.  I back myself into the back wall of the elevator, my eyes wide in horror as I slide to the floor while still leaning against the wall.  They were all dead.  The bodies of my fellow employees strewn about and bloody, office furniture destroyed, lights buzzing, computers broken.  Staring in horror, I cannot look away as the elevator doors ding shut.
Prologue to a novel I'm writing. Would just like to get some opinions. I'm pretty sure I've made a few mistakes with tense but I'm too lazy to fix it right now. I may post chapter one later.
